After migrating http://staging.camrig.com from one machine to a new machine there were some issues with Magento and Zend not having the correct permissions to write to the Magento /var folder.

The solution is simple:

Sign into your Plesk panel, navigate to Manage Container, and then navigate to File Manager

If you have deleted your Magento var folder for migration purposes, you will need to re-create this folder
Example: /staging/var

In your Plesk Power Panel, navigate to the folder where your Magento files are located and set the var folder to 777 and assign the correct user and group – then save your changes

Navigate back to the var folder and enter that folder to view its contents

Create a sub folder here called tmp Example: /staging/var/tmp

Assign the tmp folder to the apache user and apache group

A couple things to note: Media Temple and a lot of forum posts will tell you to run things as a FastCGI application. In my experience this kills Magento and leaves you with a white screen of death. Also, make sure the contents and sub folders are all set to CHMOD 777, you can do this via SSH with a recursive CHMOD: chmod -R 777 var/. Dont forget you will probably also need to CHMOD the /media folder and it’s contents.

Marina Chang & Paul Lang at The Kiteboarder offered us a spot to get people acclimated to shooting of view with a variety of different point of view camera equipment.

“In the past, it was rare to see POV kiteboarding photos or video because very few people owned waterproof cameras they could take out on the water. Mounting a video camera on a kiteboarder used to be a complicated process that involved custom-made equipment and a lot of trial and error. ”

“Grid layouts aren’t new to 2010 (or even 1980), but web designers are starting to break away from traditional web layouts (header, content column, sidebar, footer) in favor of more unique, grid driven layouts. What started out with the 960.gs movement has quickly spread to grid systems that can actually adapt to the viewers screen resolution.”
